About Me

Dr. Hussain knows that genuine and expert psychosocial guidance can make a real positive difference. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Central Lancashire (UC Lan) in England, spent seven years in researching mental distress using a qualitative approach.  Dr. Hussain is the CEO and founder of Positive Psychology and Integrative Counselling Services.

 

As a researcher clinician, he has written nine publications (including an Integrative therapy for personality disordered clients) and has 40 years of counselling experience in emotional and mental health. He is passionate about advancing his skills every day, resulting in his strong knowledge of multiple therapeutic models to support his clients in the best possible way. 

 

Dr. Hussain has received numerous Awards of Excellency, including a Preceptor of Excellence Award (2017), an adjunct lecture position at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Social Work, Renison University College-School of Social Work, and a prestigious mentorship and leadership award from the University of Waterloo. He has lead multiple conference presentations at both national and international conferences.

 

Dr. Hussain brings a wealth of knowledge through his PhD, ongoing research and advanced training/certifications in the following:
